Groups Recover Together is an outpatient addiction medicine provider that delivers comprehensive outpatient treatment for opioid addiction. Groups is searching for a Physician to join our team in Maine. This is a 1099 position.   Offering $200 an hour depending on licensure.    Minimum5 hours weekly based on availability (M-F; evenings included).   Groups delivers a proven, evidence-based model of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), considered the gold standard for the treatment of opiate use disorder by the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association (SAMHSA). We empower our members to regain control of their lives through a combination of therapy and medication.   Physician (1099) Requirements: - Active, Unencumbered State License (MD/DO) in Maine. - Active, Individual DEA with address listed in Maine (please note that if you intend on prescribing in multiple states, a separate DEA is required in each state in which you are planning on prescribing). - DEAX designation as formerly required to prescribe Buprenorphine - OR - Proof of 8hr of Qualified Training as assigned by SAMHSA will be required (experience prescribing in the MAT/SUD space preferred; in-direct/relative experience considered). - Proof of Active Board Certification (MD or DO; any specialty)   Physician (1099) Responsibilities: - Assist in conducting intakes. Physicians see patients after they have already undergone an extensive evaluation by the counselor. - Monitor patients' clinical progress at regular group counseling sessions. Groups are run by specialized counseling staff; physicians participate by answering questions and managing patients’ medication dosing. - Authorize patients' prescriptions during monthly visits with patient panels. - Complete all notes and reporting in Groups EMR system within required timeline (providers receive full orientation/ training on Clinical Protocols before eligible to begin work with Groups) *We utilize strict protocols to guide clinical decision-making. We have also developed a unique, technology-driven and team-based clinical system that handles all day-to-day patient management and regulatory compliance. This allows physicians to focus exclusively on medical management.

At Groups, our medical providers are a key component of our multidisciplinary care team that also includes substance abuse counselors, office managers and recovery support specialists  Our medical leadership provides a mixture of direct member care and administrative/leadership responsibilities.    At Groups, the Tennessee State Medical Director has both clinical and administrative responsibilities.       Clinically, you will work on a team of medical providers, counselors, and support-staff to provide direct care and medication management for our members throughout their treatment course.    As medical leader, you will directly manage medical providers and be responsible for overall quality of care and ensuring that the medical treatment provided is consistent with Recover Together’s policies and procedures and the Groups Recovery System (GRS) Manual.   Additional administrative/leadership duties will include: Serving as the backstop for all medical concerns, serving (or delegating) as needed the collaborating/supervising physician for NPs and PAs, performing direct observation and chart review of other providers, serving as an expert consultant for complex clinical cases, serving as the medical expert consult for care teams, completing medical reviews of critical incidents, maintaining high quality care through support for of ongoing training and performance management of providers, and working with the regional leadership team in developing and deploying quality improvement initiatives.   The State Medical Director will manage a team of lead staff providers and senior staff physicians across multiple locations and states. This role reports to the Regional Vice President of Care Delivery.

As a Staff Provider, you will work with a small team of experienced providers, counselors, and support-staff to facilitate rapid-access intakes and enhanced medical support throughout the early weeks of treatment for Groups members. You will leverage telemedicine extensively in your work, so must be comfortable with technology and enthusiastic about the benefits of this exciting modality. You will work daily to overcome the barriers faced by members early in recovery and must adopt a “member-first” attitude that prioritizes keeping members safe and engaged in treatment at all costs. Flexibility, empathy, and commitment to member success are critical attributes for a successful Staff Provider. You will also provide longitudinal maintenance care to a panel of members (pending prescription cap capacity). Additionally, you will support your regular provider colleagues by providing coverage when medical questions or needs arise and these providers are unavailable.    Your knowledge of the Groups Recovery System and the Groups culture will be critical for ensuring successful launches of Groups into new markets and new geographies within existing markets. Finally, you will be an integral partner of the medical leadership team in developing and deploying new medical service lines for our members.

This includes collaborating with HR and the Provider Support Manager to on-board new providers as well as  completing annual evaluations and performance management of existing providers assigned to you.     Additional administrative/leadership duties will include: Serving as the backstop for all medical concerns, serving (or delegating) as needed as the collaborating/supervising physician for NPs and PAs (where applicable), performing direct observation and chart review of other providers to ensure quality, serving as an expert consultant for complex individual clinical cases and interdisciplinary care team meetings, maintaining high quality care through performance management of providers assigned to you and working with the regional leadership team in developing and deploying quality improvement initiatives.   The Site Medical Director duties are designed to ensure that the care being delivered at each of our sites is of the highest quality and consistency, and meet the requirements of the state for this role. The Site Medical Director will manage a small team of providers at designated sites, monitoring quality, reporting to regional leadership any concerns, and helping to take action to improve the quality of care we deliver. This role reports to the State Medical Director.  The Site Medical Director will also serve as a medical care provider to members at designated groups each week.
