Objective and Summary:
At Groups, the Payroll Administrator, this person will solely be responsible for the
Payroll functions of a rapidly expanding, multi-location, multi-state healthcare company.
This role reports to our Sr. Payroll Manager
Essential Functions:

● Prepare the bi-weekly payroll for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors, in several states within four different pay companies
● Coordinate with People Team for new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, to ensure accuracy
● Work with the regional and department leaders and supervisors to ensure
timely approval of timecards
● Maintain earnings codes, pay codes, departments and locations within ADP
● Coordinate with the People Team and Finance on the maintenance of home locations and the transfer of employees from one location to another
● Initiate registration of the company in new states to begin withholding and remitting payroll taxes and unemployment insurance, as needed
● Be the liaison for all Workers Comp related billing and reporting
● Assist employees with payroll related questions and issues
● Ensure the accuracy of the benefits journal entries and ensure bills are paid timely
● Report on monthly payroll variances by location, versus budget/forecast and prior month (in coordination with FPA analyst and Controller)
● Assist in the reconciliation of payroll accounts (i.e. Payroll Liabilities, HSA
Payable, 401K Payable, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Familiarity with the Fair Labor Standards Act, overtime rules, and federal,state and local wage and hour laws
● Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms (such as ADP, Workday or UKG)
● Understanding of basic accounting principles
● Ability to clearly communicate
● Knowledge of Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Intacct a plus
● Strong problem solving and analytical skills
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard financial data
● Ability to maintain accuracy while processing high volumes of data
● Ability to improve processes
● Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
● Ability to use discretion and work independently under general supervision
● Ability to understand and adhere to the Code of Conduct
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
● 5+ years’ experience in payroll administration
● Experience in a multi-location for-profit healthcare company
● Access to reliable internet and telephone services, specifically 50M download and 10M upload package or higher as well as a strong WiFi signal from your remote work location.
